Description

Evan Samuel Rees joined the army at 19 and served in the Middle East during the First World War. Medal no.1669, PTE E. S. Rees with the R.A.M.C (Royal Army Medical Corps). He survived the WW1 and returned to live at home in the Swansea area.

Not on the back reads:
“Rhamallah, a church where we was billeted in during our stay in this place. It is a little village situated on a very high mountain about 15 miles from Jerusalem.
Note by the side of the door ‘???’ which we use for the transport of wounded on camels in the desert.”
