Billy Sunday still in Pittsburgh. Over five hundred eager Welshmen gathered in the dining rooms of the McCreery Co. last Saturday night to celebrate St. David's Day. It was one of the best gatherings ever seen in this city. It was exceptionally enjoyable. After the opening blessing by the Rev. Wm. Surdival, D. D. of Gomer, Ohio, the best was made of the following menu: berries; vegetables; plaice; roast lamb; grBen peas; baked potatoes; ice crem; assorted cakes; caerphili cheese. The Rev. E. L. Hughes thanked Surdival for the blessing and David Gibbon, President of the St. David's Society,gave the opening speech. He introduced W. J. Jones of the Pittsburgh Ban},for Savings. Speakers were W. J. Walter, John Chappell, Judge L. L. Davis, T. O. Charles andlpos. E. Jones. Solos were sung by lUadame T. Bodycombe-Hughes and Miss Sue rarvard. The Oakland Ladies' Quartette sang as did the South Side Ladies' Quartette. The Druid Glee CIub sang Welsh tunes. The Pittsburgh Sextette sang alongwithvenss byR H. Nesbitt and Gwilym Thomas.
Accompanists were Fned Davies and J. Harry Jones. Unable to attend were Joseph E. Dovies of lYashington and the CoI. R. A. Phitlips of Scranton. Among those who came from far away were David Prichard of Scranton; Dr. Timothy Griffiths of Frostburg, Md; Seward Davis of Johnstown; Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Jones of Tyrnne, Pa; Mr. and Mrs. John Grifliths of Washington, Pa; Cwilym IVI, Thomas of Moundsville, Pa.; Dr. J. O. Howells of Bridgeportr Ohio with his brother and wife; Mrs" Thos. Richards and Mrc. Williams of Morgantown,lY. Va" On Sunday afternoon Feb. 2 the Rev. E. L. Hughes was installed as minister of the Welsh Presbyterian church. The charge was grven by the Rev. Edward Roberts of Venedocia" Ohio and by the Rev. W. L. McEwen, D.D. of Pittsburgh. Taking part were the Rev. W. A. Jones, D. D. of Knoxville and the Rev. Mr. G,riffiths of the Welsh Baptist church. Deacon Owen Jones of Oakland Church is ill. The Rev. Wm. Surdival, D. D. of Gomer, Ohio is visiting. Last Monday, Mrs. Pugh was buried. She was the dear wife of William Pugh, one ofthe deacons ofthe Welsh Baptists. Richard Humphreys of Milwaukee will be freasurer ofthe Standard Farm Security Co. ofMinneapolis. T. O Charles, editor of Y Drych is ill. Mrs Rachel Harris of Oakland is ill.
