Description

This type of pottery has been named local variant as to date this has not been matched to any known wider typology and is assumed to have been made locally within Carmarthenshire (Woods 2012). There were a number of fragments that where discovered within Trench I; the hall trench; all of which look similar to the fragment seen in the photograph (Austin & Dollery 2011, Woods 2012).

The fragment in the photograph is part of a base of a vessel and may have been a storage or cooking pot (Woods 2012)
