Description

This is a scan of a military Permit held by Dia Davies, and donated to the Royal Commission by a community member. During the Second World War, Ynyslas was used as a military testing ground or range for new technological advances in Rocket fuel. The aim was to develop a rocket similar in power to the German V2. Dia Davies was a serviceman at the time requiring a permit to enter the range. This permit reflects the standard permits needed to enter military bases. This permit however also refers to special privileges to enter the Officers Mess (housed in Moel Ynys) and privileges to drink at the officers Bar.
