Gunner M. Charles Jenkins, 1587, seved with the 121st Battery Royal Field Artillery. Transcript: Dear Ethel & Ern, Just a few lines in answer to your welcome letter & parcel. I was very pleased with ciggs and sweets it seems good to have some of the old sweets they were al right. Dear Ethel we are going to Salisbury on Thursday,they have issued us with a new pair of strong boots and they look al right. Dear Ethel you can send the letters to the same address as we are only going for a week and then we are coming back here to await orders from the war office but we are expecting to go somewhere before Christmas. I have heard we are having 48 hours at home when we come back from Salisbury. Dear Ethel will you remember me to Flo and tell her I am glad to hear Frank is al right. Dear Ethel tell Ernie he must ask his Granny to make his soldiers clothes for Christmas. Well dearo I thinks this is all the news now so will close with love to you all from Charlie. Your loving brother.
