Transcript: Dear Ethel and Ern, Just a few lines in answer to your welcome letter and to thank you very much for the parcel which I received on Thursday. I was glad of the fags as I had run out and was getting short of money I enjoyed the cake and pies it was grand. Dear Ethel and Ern I was lucky to get that parcel as it was put with the last parcels only the postman knew my name and number and brought it over. You made a mistake yo put C Sub Sec but you left out B and then you put battery and it read C Sub Sec Battery but I didn't notice until he told me the next day. Dear Ethel tell Ernie I enjoyed the chocolates they were grand tell him I will buy him a big box of chocolates when I come home. Thank Nell for pies and fags and tell her to write and let me know how their babs is. I had a letter from Min and she said the babs was bad I hope by the time you get this she will be al right as I wouldn't have anything happen to her for all the world. Tell Tom he is not to worry to send cigarettes as long as the work is so bad as I know he cannot afford it. Dear Ethel I am enclosing a postal order for 2/6 I want you to give it to mother and ask her to put 2/- to it and give it to Tom and ask him to get me a razor with it and I will send her the 2/- as soon as I can afford it as my razor isn't a bit of good. Dear Ethel tell Tom I will write to Mr Allen and thank him for the cigarettes. How is Ern's work I hope it is al right and that you are all quite well as it leaves me at present. Dear Ethel when you write again don't put 88 Division leave that out as they don't like us to put it tell them will you and I shan't put my address on the top of my letters as you all know it now. Well dears I think this all the news at present so will close will love to you all from your loving brother Charlie, kisses for Bertie and Ernie.
