Gunner M. Charles Jenkins, 1587, served with the 121st Battery Royal Field Artillery. Transcript: Dear Ethel and Ern and boys, Just a few lines to you at last. I am sorry I have not written before as we have been very busy. Well dears I arrived back here quite safe I found it a bit strange at first but am getting used to it again. We are having pretty good weather here cold you know but we don't mind as long as it is dry. Well dears how is little Bertie getting on I hope he is better and Ern and hope he will soon be able to start work again. Oh I forgot to bring that M up for Ern but you must ask Mother for it when you are down it will be very handy for work. Well dears we are back to the same place again but a bit warmer than it was but we don't mind that. Well dears there is not much news so will close with the best of love to you both and the boys from your loving brother, Charles xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
