Description

Richard William Henry Bowell, back row fifth from the left, was originally from Mold where he worked as a chauffeur before joining the Royal Artillery. He was gassed during the war but survived and returned to live in Mold. Like so many other soldiers, Richard never spoke of his war experiences. The family have very little information about his time in the Royal Artillery because the World War I records relating to his history were destroyed in World War II.
