Description

David Thomas Richards of Merthyr Tydfil was a soldier in the 3rd/4th Battalion, Queen’s Own (Royal West Kent Regiment). He was killed on the Western Front on 20 June 1917, aged 29. His wife Amy gave birth to their son William Thomas Richards on 21 June 1917. Here is an image of his brass memorial plaque (commonly known as the ‘Dead Man’s Penny’).
