Description

While serving on the Western Front, Lemuel Thomas Rees (known as Tom) used to send letters and poetry back to his sister Elizabeth in Cardigan. Elizabeth replied with poetry in both English and Welsh.
The English poem here reads:
Dear Brother, since the war began
(I'm certain it's quite true)
The King has had no braver man
To fight for him, than you,
And such a welcome you'll receive
When you'll return once more,
As I can readily believe;-
No brother had before.
